Yoga Classes for Every Body at the JunoActive Mall of America Store

Join us at our Mall of America store for a month of Yoga for Every Body classes! We’ve partnered with notable body positive yoga instructors from around the Twin Cities area to host a series of yoga classes at our Mall of America store.

We know how crucial it is to foster an open, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere for people of all sizes when it comes to fitness. Partnering with notable body positive and curvy yoga instructors from the Twin Cities, the classes will all focus on introductory lessons and modified poses for folks of all sizes.

Here are all the details—read more about each instructor and their classes below.

  • PRICE: $5 when you reserve ahead of time at 612-670-8648. Drop-in classes are $10. Unlimited month-long passes are $40.
  • TIME: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. *Tuesday Aug. 15 and 22 will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  • WHERE: Mall of America S-140 between Macy’s and the Apple store.

Meet the Yoga Instructors

Ani Jansen Health at Every Size 

Ani is a yoga teacher trainee with YogaQuest who is passionate about Health at Every Size (HAES) and body positivity. Yoga has played a key role in her personal well- being and body image and she is excited to begin offering body positive classes.

Build appreciation for your body through a gentle Flow Yoga. Our bodies are with us through all of life’s ups and downs! Let’s show kindness to our bodies through the practice of yoga and revel in the amazing things they do for us every day. Ani will offer multiple ways to approach each pose so students can adapt yoga to their body safely and comfortably.

Elisabeth Pletcher Curvy Yoga

Elisabeth is E-RYT200 certified through the Curvy Yoga, teaches Curvy, Slow Flow, Beginner, Gentle, Chair, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative Yoga and is certified in helping people who are undergoing cancer care treatment.

Curvy Yoga classes are low key and fun as we work to connect breath to movement, focus on alignment and variations of poses to find a body positive practice that feels safe and supported. Elisabeth strives to meet students where ever they are at in their practice; whether it is the first time on the mat or you are an experienced yogi.

Elen Bahr Slow Flow Yoga

Ask Elen Bahr what she does for a living and she’ll tell you “I help people feel better in their bodies.” After decades of being terrified of yoga, she stepped onto a mat in 2010 and has been practicing ever since.

Kris Anne Narrative Yoga

Kris Anne began her yoga practice in 2012. As an avid runner, she was thrilled to discover how well yoga complimented her training. After an injury led her to hang up her sneakers, she turned to yoga to maintain strength and agility.

Cathie Witzel Embrace the Wobble

“I am interested in teaching to people who are bravely approaching movement for the first time, or maybe after a long break. I am interested in creating a safe space for people in larger bodies who want to see what this yoga thing is all about.”

Mary McCollum Curvy Yoga

Mary McCallum is a RYT-200 and Curvy Yoga certified teacher who is passionate about making yoga accessible to all. Mary loves teaching how yoga can work for you and dispelling common yoga myths.
